How can you help me?
As your therapist, I will work to create a safe non-judgmental environment. For 50 minutes we will work together to explore, understand, and transform thoughts, behaviors, and patterns that may be holding you back from ultimately living the life you want to live. I utilize EMDR and Cognitive Behavior Therapy which is an evidenced based practiced. My style as a therapist is warm, empathetic, direct and engaging.
What will our appointment be like?
We will talk privately about anything you wish. We will work together to clarify your concerns and develop a plan to improve your situation. In my experience, individuals have different needs and expectations regarding therapy. A person may have questions about whether what they are experiencing in life is normal, may desire feedback, and may enjoy having someone who will listen without judgement. With this said, I will work with you to ensure that your individual therapeutic needs and expectations are met.
Will our conversation be confidential?
Our discussions are strictly confidential except in a few rare circumstances. As a mandated reporter I am required under the law to break confidentiality in cases of child abuse, neglect, abuse to the elderly, or if someone had serious intent to harm themself or another person, or in certain legal situations such as a subpoena. In other cases only with the client’s permission it may be beneficial to collaborate to work with others including a medical provider or to an insurance company for reimbursement On your behalf.
